We recently warned against the Keler Group broker scam, which deployed the fraudulent YuanPay crypto campaign to chase after victims. In our initial review, we exposed that the scam asked its victims to make deposits via the crypto stablecoin USDT, which had to be purchased with credit cards via the Bulgarian AllCoinSwapper and the licensed Estonian crypto payment processor Mercuryo. The EU has announced an adaptation of the existing sanctions package against Russia. Among other things, this provides for a complete ban on crypto services for Russian companies, citizens, or residents. FinTelegram has issued several alerts against broker scams in recent months in which we discovered the payment processor Mercuryo as a facilitator.
