Italian Financial Watchdog Consob Orders Black-Out of Five Illegal Financial Websites!

On Feb 23, 2024, the Italian financial watchdog Consob ordered the blackout of five illegal online trading platforms. The number of websites blocked by Consob orders reached the round figure of 1,029 since July 2019, when the Growth Decree gave the Italien regulator the power to order ISPs to inhibit access from Italy to websites through which financial services are offered without proper authorization.

The number of websites Blocked by Consob orders reached the round figure of 1,000 since July 2019, when the "Decreto crescita" ("Growth Decree," Law No. 58 of 28 June 2019, Article No. 36, paragraph 2-terdecies) gave Italien regulator the power to order ISPs to inhibit access from Italy to websites through which financial services are offered without proper authorization.
