Since 2021, listed German real estate firm Adler Group has been under fire from short-sellers at Viceroy Research and Fraser Perring. In their analyses, Adler Group is described as a fraudulent scheme that the Austrian Cevdet Canar would control. In July 2022, Caner became the head of Aggregate Holdings SA, one of the largest shareholders of Adler Group. Caner already has a wild entrepreneurial past with several bankruptcies and criminal proceedings. Here is his portrait.
The Swede Ilija Batljan founded the real estate company Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget (SBB) in 2016. It claims to be one of Sweden's biggest real estate companies, listed on Nasdaq First North. Batljan is the company's CEO and came under pressure after another report by Wirecard hunter Fraser Perring and his Viceroy Research uncovered irregularities in the company's cash. In part, SBB had to admit to the allegations. A battle between Perring and Batlja is currently taking place on Twitter.
The Viceroy Report of the short-seller Fraser Perring, 46, about the listed German GRENKE AG has first personnel consequences. Company founder Wolfgang Grenke, 69, resigns from the company's supervisory board with immediate effect until the accusations have been cleared up. The company, founded in 1978, also announced a special audit by an independent auditing firm. After Wirecard, GRENKE is the second German target of the short seller from London. And it is again a powerfully executed but better-prepared attack.
The Viceroy report accuses the public GRENKE AG and its founder Wolfgang Grenke of running a malicious business model along with balance sheet manipulation and money laundering. The core of the accusations is actually rather identical to the accusations that Perring had also rightfully made against Wirecard. Perring is first and foremost a professional short seller and uses its analyses as a means to an end. And he does not deny that at all. In Vienna, the smoking gun in the GRENKE Case could have been discovered with CTP GmbH.
Delaware registered Viceroy Research has once again published an obviously explosive analysis. The group around Fraser Perring is specialized in investigative financial research and was among the first to point out the irregularities in the German Wirecard scandal. Now Viceroy is revealing the irregularities at Grenke, a public-listed German financial services provider. The companies share price has collapsed as a result.
