Short Klarpay Narrative
The FINMA-regulated Klarpay is a cyberfinance company focused on online merchants, affiliates, digital marketing businesses, and influencers. It offers multi-currency accounts and global payment processing. In February 2023, the company announced that it had achieved profitability in its first operational year, 2022.
Founded in 2019, the Swiss fintech looks like a spin-off of BDSwiss, the CySEC-regulated investment firm of Jan Eric Malkus. Some of the former BDSwiss executives are the fintech’s key people:
- Mihkel Vitsur, co-founder and former BDSwiss Chairman, co-founded fintech and is its Chairman;
- Martynas Bieliauskas, former director and co-founder of BDSwiss Group, is co-founder and CEO;
- Christos Alatzidis, the former BDSwiss CIO & CTO, is co-founder and CTO;
- The former BDSwiss Chief Financial Officer Marc Evans joined Klarpay in Feb 2022 as Chief Financial Officer;
- The Head of the Back Office, Marianna Markidou, joined Klarpay in Jan 2022;
- Persia Papafylaktou, former Marketing Manager at BDSwiss, joined Klarpay in March 2022.
