For several years now, fraudulent crypto campaigns have been used to trap victims for broker scams with the promise of easy and quick riches (get-rich-quickly). One currently active campaign today is which is on the hunt for new victims for the EZMarkets broker scam. EZMarkets is an extremely poorly made white-label broker scam for which no one should fall. Please stay very far away and save yourself from losing your money and misusing your data.
Currently, we notice that many fraudulent campaigns are promoted through the BigTopChannel (www.bigtopchannel.org). Those who register on one of the many campaigns running there are subsequently redirected directly to the payment page of a broker scam. The website is not new. In November 2021, the Cybercrime Division of the Swiss police in Zurich warned against BitTopChannel In addition, numerous warnings against the website can be found on the Internet. The operators are unknown.
Our FinTelegram team has been focusing on fraudulent marketing campaigns on Google and social media to chase victims for broker scams for several weeks. Google UK & Ireland has tightened the conditions for placing financial ads since August 2021, but these conditions do not apply in the EU. Google is cashing in with scams. We have established that fake publishers in Russia are advertising fraudulent crypto campaigns on Google. The search giant doesn't care about regulatory warnings. We call this the Russian Google Game!
On June 7, 2021, we issued an investor alert against the TrendsTurbo scam promoted by the Bitcoin Code fraud campaign. In Aug 2021, the UK FCA issued a warning against the TrendsTurbo (www.trendsturbo.com and www.trends-turbo.com) broker scam, following FinTelegram’s assessment issued two months ago. Google has done so before. Evidently, our conclusions are more often correct than not. We have an interesting story with TrendsTurbo in the first place.
In most cases, financial market regulators and law enforcement agencies follow our assessments. We communicate regularly with these authorities and are always available to answer questions. Today, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) issued a warning against the TrendsTurbo (www.trendsturbo.com and www.trends-turbo.com) broker scam, following FinTelegram's assessment issued two months ago. Google has done the same before. We have an interesting story with TrendsTurbo.
Some scammers deploy agencies to protect themselves from FinTelegram warnings. These agencies sometimes file infringement claims to Google to have the warnings removed from Google search results. The operators of TrendsTurbo (www.trendsturbo.com) broker scam, for example, filed several infringement claims with fake senders and websites. Well, we filed a counterclaim and hereby have to repeat the warning against TrendsTurbo.
In recent weeks, we have focused our investigations and reports on the fraudulent marketing campaigns that scammers and regulated CySEC investment firms use to hunt for new victims. We have started our "Marketing Campaigns Blacklist" in this regard. A few days ago, the German BaFin announced to have started investigations against the operators of the Bitcoin Code Campaign. Well, it's at least a start. Regulators and law enforcement agencies need to take much stronger action against the operators of these fraud campaigns.
Some scammers use interesting methods to protect themselves from FinTelegram warnings. The operators of TrendsTurbo (www.trendsturbo.com) broker scam have claimed that our June 7, 2021 investor warning would infringe the copyrights of another website. Therefore, they have filed a complaint with Lumen (see here). They want the warning to show up in Google search results. The thing they achieve with this is that we issue another investor warning against TrendsTurbo.
It is not a new phenomenon but always surprising. Not at all! We mean the fact that CySEC-regulated investment firms use fraudulent marketing campaigns like 1k Daily Profit, Bitcoin Code, Bitcoin Prime, or Bitcoin Circuit to catch customers for their regulated broker activities with lies and false promises. Today, CySEC-regulated broker OBRinvest is promoted via the fraudulent 1k Daily Profit campaign. If you are a potential investor, stay far away. However, if you are CySEC, please have a closer look.
Today we receive an email from a nice lady from Self Improvement eBooks (www.self-improvement-ebooks.net). She informs us that a Facebook group has been created to discuss new tools. She also tells us that the link in the email will take you to the long-awaited e-book. But, unfortunately, if you click on it, you actually end up (once again) on the fraudulent Bitcoin Code campaign (www.bitcoincodesoft.com). From there, after registering, one eventually ends up on the cashier page of the scam broker TrendsTurbo.
