Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency, reached a new high in over a year on Friday, partly by BlackRock's intention to establish a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, filed last week to introduce iShares Bitcoin Trust, an ETF that would utilize Coinbase Custody as its custodian and provide institutional investors with exposure to the cryptocurrency. Bitcoin has surged nearly 25% in value and reached a peak of $31,458.

On Change.org, a group of retail investors has started a petition titled "Fire Gary Gensler as SEC Chairman for obstruction of justice."

In Nov 2021, BaFin issued the first warning against Citadel LLC and PenteTrade24, banning the public sale of shares of the bankrupt Swiss Cannabis Health AG via the meanwhile suspended website Citadel Securities. A second BaFin warning followed on 6 Jan 2022. While the US-registered Pente Management LLC operates the online retail broker PenteTrade24, Citadel LLC is the well-known Chicago-based hedge fund; Citadel Securities is their brokerage arm.

We pointed out that this broker scam connected with Citadel Securities and Pente Management d/b/a PenteTrade24. The German BaFin announced today that it is investigating Citadel LLC and PenteTrade24 because they are publicly offering shares in Cannabis Health AG without the required capital market prospectus. It seems that the Citadel Securities scam is much more extensive than initially thought.

Investor warning against a clone of CySEC-regulated ATFX Global!

After ten days without any warning issued, the FMA resumed its obligations and issued several warnings. Among them is one against the broker scam ATFX Global which attacks German-speaking investors with the domain www.atfxglobal.info. The scam also goes as TraderDesk and ATFX Users Portal 24 (https://users-portal.com). The operator of the scam is allegedly Cyprus-registered ATFX Global Markets (CY) Ltd. This is an investment firm regulated by CySEC with license number 285/15 that operates the ATFX broker with the approved domain www.atfx.eu.
