Spread financial intelligence

Against offshore broker AMarkets, the Italian regulator Consob issued a warning in December 2021 and blocked their website for Italian visitors. Since then, clients from EEA jurisdictions cannot easily register. However, Similarweb statistics show that AMarkets‘ various pages are still visited by clients from EEA countries and the United States. The broker is a member of the Financial Commission but has no regulatory permission that we know of. We have given AMarkets an Orange Compliance rating.

Short Narrative

AMarkets broker scheme with Orange Compliance rating

The website does not provide information about the beneficial owners of AMarkets. We have found in connection with AMarkets the UK-registered IP Box (UK) Ltd, which Aleksandr Maksimov, a Russian living in Montenegro, controls.

Compliance Check

AMarkets is operated by AMarkets Ltd, a company registered in British Aguilla. The company has no regulatory permission to offer its financial services.

In our compliance review, we were unable to make any pre-KYC deposits. Deposits were only possible after email, phone number, ID, and address were verified. In this respect, AMarkets does not violate any regulatory provisions. Deposits are possible via credit/debit cards, e-wallets, and crypto.

AMarkets offers maximum leverage of up to 1:3000 for forex and commodities. Also, for cryptos, a leverage of up to 1:100 is possible for the most important cryptocurrencies, such as BTC or ETH.

On Trustpilot, AMarkets receives a 4.6-star rating from more than 900 reviews with a corresponding Excellent Trust level. Customers are apparently satisfied with the unauthorized offshore broker. However, AMarkets clients are not protected by investor compensation schemes and are not entitled to Financial Ombudsman Services.
