In recent weeks, we have reported about the illegal online casinos Atlantis Slots and PlayRegal recruiting players in EEA regulatory regimes without a license and accepting their deposits. One of the payment options is a bank transfer via Klarna‘s Sofort. With today’s update, we have discovered that Sofort has been removed from PlayRegal and Atlantis Slots. However, Sofort is still available as a payment option for TTVGAMES.

Sofort Removed
The two illegally operating online casinos use Polish Continent Pay as a payment gateway or cashier, through which Sofort was integrated. However, the London-based gambling company Intelli Global LTD d/b/a TTVGAMES (TTVGAMES.com) was interposed as the payment agent. Intelli Global is apparently registered as a merchant with Sofort.
The question generally arises as to how the KYC checks are carried out at Sofort. Apparently, illegal online casinos and their payment agents are not recognized efficiently. There is no other explanation for the frequent use of Sofort in this high-risk segment.

Sofort Still Available

TTVGAMES also offers games on its website in which players use chips and e-vouchers that must be purchased from TTVGAMES beforehand. The company does not have a license to offer gambling in the UK, EEA jurisdictions, or other regulatory regimes. Again, Sofort is one of the payment options. In our review on June 23, 2024, the Sofort payment option was still active and possible.
Continent Pay is also used as a payment gateway and cashier at TTVGAMES.
