The board's purpose is to advise Binance on some of the most complex regulatory, political, and social issues the entire crypto industry faces as it grows and evolves at a fast pace. Fortune and other media outlets reported that Kraken founder Jesse Powell announced that he is stepping down as CEO of the crypto exchange that he founded in 2011. He will be replaced by long-time COO Dave Ripley, who joined Kraken a few years ago when the exchange acquired crypto wallet firm Glidera. On Twitter, Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao a/k/a CZ, informed that the major Chines news outlet 163 ran a story saying that he was arrested in his mansion during an FBI raid, and a room of BNB and BUSD was found in the basement of the mansion. The news was picked up by many other Chinese news sites and quickly spread in many social media groups. While the original article is removed. Many copies of it are still available on other sites. The truth, however, is that this was fake news, and CZ has not been arrested.

Reuters published an interesting report about the world's largest crypto platform Binance. According to the report, Binance processed transactions totaling at least $2.35 billion stemming from hacks, investment frauds, and illegal drug sales between 2017 and 2021.
