Cybercrime is ubiquitous and is also being pursued more and more strictly by the enforcement agencies and courts in most jurisdictions. DDoS attacks, for example, are already recognized by law enforcement agencies as a criminal act. Offenders are prosecuted and punished.

Since its inception, FinTelegram has always been a target for DDoS attacks. Also in the last weeks, we servers were attacked with billions and billions of malicious requests. Thus FinTelegram stands in a row with other prominent victims like Blizzard Entertainment. Their World of Warcraft online properties were also the target of DDoS attacks. Blizzard has reported this cybercrime attack to the appropriate authorities.

As a matter of fact, the perpetrators have been arrested. At least that’s what the media is reporting.

Immediately after the Distributed Denial of Service attacks against our game service began, the Blizzard Security Team worked around the clock with local and international law enforcement agencies to track down the source of the DDoS. It is our understanding that, within a few days, authorities were able to successfully identify and arrest a suspect.

The details are not yet known. But that’s good news for the digital economy. We at FinTelegram also know who coordinated the DDoS attacks against our websites. We hope that the authorities will also be successful in our case and arrest the perpetrators.
